About The Project

THE HAMILTON PROJECT is a business support programme that teaches the process of enterprise for service-leavers and veterans wishing to set up their own businesses.

The project was piloted in 2006/7 (Phase I) with the Royal Marines (the Hamilton Project's "parent unit") and coordinated by Dave Gardner, Royal Marines Resettlement Information Officer (RMRIO) at Commando Training Centre Royal Marines (CTCRM). Currently, in 2008/9 (Phase II), the project is extending to offer the business mentoring services to the wider Royal Navy with a particular focus on those who leave the Naval services due to medical reasons. THE HAMILTON PROJECT, with support from Oxfordshire County Council, is also providing business mentoring to veterans (from all three armed services) from Oxfordshire throughout 2008/9. It is planned (Phase III) that THE HAMILTON PROJECT will be made available to service leavers and veterans from all three Armed Services in 2009/10.
